Self-Help in Sober Living & Recovery -- Self-Help Sites & Opportunities

In Recovery and Sober Living, We Want To Feel Better About Ourselves-- And We Want to Make Money From Home or Find Ways To Make Money Using Your Computer. Here are a number of Good Ideas

Here's a way to get healthy AND make some money. Quit smoking using these cigarettes and be a sales affiliate so that people impressed by YOUR ability to quit want to do it too! In or out of sober living this is a way to make money from home or make money using your computer. Turn other people onto these through a ready-made website you can get by clicking the banner below. And YOU can recruit affiliates also, so you make money off them! In a million years I never thought I could quit, but with nicotine-loaded "e-cigarettes" or "Vapor-nicotine", you turn a stinky habit into a green habit with NO TAR and all the crap that burns in cigarrettes. And if you are getting sober or are in sober living, there is no better way to feel great AND make money at the same time. This is by far the best brand of smokeless smokes, and they have a cool campaign:

For People and Companies Interested In the Recovery Industry

My friend Myrin, a fellow entrepreneur working in the treatment and recovery industries, has put a couple of terrific resources together. If you are in recovery, like me and many others who have gone before me, you may feel the "pull" to get involved in helping others in their treatment and recovery. We each have our own ideas as to how and where we may be best suited in that capacity. To find jobs in the treatment and recovery industry and read some articles to explore that idea, check out soberjobs.com below:

If you are in the treatment and recovery industry, including sober living or any other area and need a web site, I have checked out MyNew Technologies (or it would not be here for you) in terms of the quality of their work, and if their coding is anything close to what they are capable of with their graphics, you will be seeing us put a deal together of some sort with these guys in the future. Myrin took my logos and designed two graphic sales pieces that were hands down beautiful compared to what we had on our link resources site so I will be putting those new graphics up for our use on our "resources and links page" shortly I hope. Meanwhile perhaps you need some web work done. Check them out by evaluating the quality of their own marketing piece for the web site builders along with general pricing ranges by clicking into the entry below:

Read, Write, and Consider Being an Entrepreneur in Recovery

Some people are happier and more stable as employees in a job of their choice where they get a regular paycheck. Others are more adventurous in terms of considering higher risk type propositions that interest them greatly -- such as my venture with this website, Sober Living Halfway House Search. I have some serious dreams about where I'd like to see this site in a few years, and while it is never easy starting a new venture, it can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. I simply love what I am doing now and feel I have finally found my true calling in recovery. I was 50 when I founded the parent company, Rees Networks LLC several years ago (2009). It is NEVER too late for you either -- as throughout history there are countless examples of people who did not find their "beat" or "make their mark" until later in life.

Heck, you can totally reinvent yourself while becoming the new person you are! Many new and different ideas may occur to you in your healthier, sober brain. You will develop new habits and ways of thinking now that you did not have before. After my depression worsened and the more drinking and using became an issue, it occurs to me now (but didn't then) how much creativity and drive I lacked -- which are two classic symptoms of depression and addiction. So do not be afraid to let your thoughts run, and do not be afraid to set some goals to further explore those new thoughts and follow up on them. I heard somebody say something wonderful the other day: "You bet I am going to try it. I want to be TIRED when I die".

I packed up a 20 year career on Wall Street to do something different. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, I just knew if I followed my heart and my interests, I'd be OK. Blogging led to a blog site that got to the top of Google entitled "Depression, Anxiety and Addiction", and I got such a kick out of that I began to think of the things I could do on the web, even as I was managing a relatively new sober living operation with two busy houses. Look for holes in the way certain things are put together and how you might improve it, and look for niches that interest you, and trust that God will take you to a good place. It works!

I have found that being productive and doing things that give back to the community in some way are extremely helpful along these lines. This might be something as simple as writing YOUR STORY in an area of the self-help sites full of like-minded individuals. People like to share and read the stories of others to both see that they are not alone, and to help see patterns of things that drive you to health -- or to relapse.

If you dont feel like writing, I have recommended some great reading you can do. You can read in some specific areas information that you will find makes you feel like a better person. I have listed various sites that hold a variety of topics.

WHATEVER YOU DO, CONSIDER BEING A LEADER OF DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD. SELF ESTEEM AND RESPECT WILL RESULT...

Advice about how to improve the quality of your life:

Look into some of what follows, and check out self-help sites for either reading up on interesting topics, or sharing some of your own knowledge to help others through writing. Open your mind up to the knowledge and wisdom that other people can share with you through what they have written. You can learn so much you will end up kicking yourself for not having done more of it earlier. I got an MP3 player and joined "audible.com" for 15 bucks a month. Then I started walking with the MP3 player. It got so I looked forward to walking each day along with listening to new authors and I found it made a huge difference in how I felt with the exercise. It took me years to get into the habit but once I combined great books with walking, it changed my life. Now I am also going to the gym to try to regain a better body, too. It all can just keep expanding if you allow it to and are moving in a direction that is right for you.

Grow your inner self and begin expanding your mind about different matters. This is an excellent time to take self-help studies to improve yourself in different areas at:  http://www.selfgrowth.com/

This would be a great place to read about different aspects of alcoholism or addiction, but moreover if you are starting a blog to make money affiliating with a company or just want to share your story, this is the place to do it. You can even write under an author's "pen name" if you want to remain anonymous:  http://ezinearticles.com/.

If depression has really got you down to the point where you are thinking the world may be a better place without you, I have been there. GO HERE! There is something for everybody: whether you are college-bound, military - whatever: http://preventsuicide.net

Wondering what you are doing at sober living? Read my story. I was dragged to sober living kicking and screaming: http://soberlivingsearch.com/stay_sober.php

If you want to read some stories that relate to sober living, check out our blog: Sober Living Halfway House Search Blog

Before I began this site, I was determined to write a blog about what I'd been through before and after getting sober: Depression, Anxiety, and Addiction

If you want to read one of the best books ever written about how to change your thinking to being a winner ALL THE TIME, and being happy in life -- get on your MP3 player and go to audible.com and buy "EXCUSES BE GONE" by Dr. Wayne Dyer and download it.

If you want to change your life for the better, I mentioned above to consider incorporating exercise into your daily routine, and you can do it in a way that literally entertains you to the point you look forward to the entertainment, and you enjoy it while getting healthy at the same time so you will come to look forward to the daily routine instead of dreading it. Listening to a great books can make any type of exercise whether you walk or cycle or do other things -- fly by. I never used to listen to enough books, much less read them, nor was I able to get up the gumption to exercise. But putting the two activities together has really worked. Exercise really does miracles for depression and so very many other things that us people who have been out of balance in the past really need to do to help ourselves.

Money Making Online: Design a Site - Blog for Money - Reinvent Yourself in Recovery - BE AN SEO EXPERT

The sites in this area have some great tools for the entrepreneurs out there who want to start a business in recovery. I used my recovery time to learn how to build websites, and now I can make my own sites and design them for different affiliate ideas. I have listed affiliate sites and some ways to learn how to do everything from A-Z if you want to re-invent yourself and start new businesses. I learned SEO all by myself. Type into Google  "Search for Sober livings" and look how Sober Living Halfway House search comes up. That's called Google DOMINATION. You can learn, too. All the tools are right here.

WARNING: Making money online is an area full of scam systems that don't work. You be well served to read this: http://www.seobook.com/learn-seo/easy.php

Entrepreneurial Sites to Learn All About Web Building From: I stake my whole business and personal reputation on these being the best sites you can either learn everything you need from, or get you to where you want to be. No wasted Money, not an ounce of BS. Lots of free services:

I have used IBP/ Axandra for much of my linking and SEO work and swear by it. They also offer a money back, satisfaction guarantee that if you follow their guidelines you will end up at the top of Google, which it helped me with:

To begin the process, you want to start your site where you can host it inexpensively, and also buy your domain so you don't have to transfer it from one host to another. I do all my business with Go Daddy, where you can often find 30% off coupons or promos. Go there now by clicking below the 1.99 link:  $1.99 Web Hosting

Linking is the most important step in creating a page that gets well ranked, right behind site content. Wordtracker has got 3 systems they will try to sell you, but I find only 1 is worth the $49 a month. Keyword and strategy tools you can find for free. Stay away from automated linking schemes, or even subcontracting out your linking. You just never know what or how a 3rd party operates, and they often do more damage than good.

So if you want to try a 14 day free guaranteed trial for a tool for finding the best Keywords BY FAR, including spying on the competition, try Keywords ( though you can find good free Keywords sites) but definitely buy Linkbuilder on Wordtracker (free trial below). They have 3 tools they lease monthly or annually if you want a discount.. I like Wordtracker and Linkbuilder, but the 3rd tool Strategizer would be an advantage for most sites also. I had little need for Stategizer on this site because our keyword base is so narrow. The banner below accesses all 3 tools with a 7 day FREE TRIAL:

I learned all about the web and how to build websites from scratch, and what SEO was, and basic code, and cool tricks,  and they had it built into this program which I would recommend just for the 30 Video Tutorials they give you. There is hardly anything you can't do after completing the course --and it is a course -- from XSITE PRO2 software. If you are going to get serious about websites and making $:

"JING" is probably the best free video and camera photo product on the market, and can change the way you present to your clients, or even swap videos or pix with friends and family. There is a standard free version which gets you by and does quite alot, or you can ante up 14.95 for a year of "PRO" service, where your recording limit is unlimited and you can do all sorts of fancy editing with Camtasia, another techsmith product. The example of what you can do with jing exists on this promo video I sent around when soliciting houses to join the site:
